Hi, I’m Taimour Zaman — Founder and Chief Capital Strategist at AltFunds Global.

You’d get me if James Bond and Bruce Wayne had a lovechild who traded in martinis and batarangs for financial instruments and capital strategies. I’m a self-proclaimed financial maverick with a spy’s instinct and a superhero’s heart. And while I don’t leap over buildings, I do leap over bureaucracies, banks, and broken funding models — and that’s a lot harder.

As a kid, I dreamed of saving the world. Instead, I grew up and started saving balance sheets. Not quite the caped crusader I imagined, but close enough. After consulting for giants like Adobe, Microsoft, SAP, and IBM, I witnessed firsthand the extent to which our capital systems are flawed. Canada’s innovation was flatlining, global capital access was rigged, and too many good ideas were dying on the vine due to a lack of funding.

So, I built alternatives.

I co-founded One Million Acts of Innovation, a global nonprofit that brings together business, youth, and the arts to spark change. Then, I went further and co-created 8 Billion Acts of Innovation — a private equity fund-turned-reality TV competition that invested in AI and blockchain companies, offering a $20 million prize pool. Yes, I turned investing into a game show. Cue the dramatic theme music.

These days, I lead AltFunds Global — a Switzerland-based advisory firm that helps accredited professionals and family offices access capital that most people are unaware of. Think SBLCs. Think banking licenses. Think sovereign-backed strategies that make traditional bank loans look like dial-up internet.

Recently, TechTimes profiled our work and how sovereign wealth funds are moving away from traditional financial structures, toward the exact models we help implement. I’ve also been published in Investment Executive, where I break down how high-net-worth individuals can expand access to capital without selling off equity or seeking a meeting with a bank manager.
