Founder, Chief Capital Strategist / Chief Financing Strategist
Hi, I’m Taimour Zaman.
When I was a child, I had a fascination for spies and superheroes like James Bond and Batman. The concept of combining technology and ingenuity to save the world resonated with me.
Naturally, after graduating from university, I gravitated towards big-tech. I spent over a decade consulting with giants like Adobe, Avaya, Microsoft, SAP, IBM, and TATA Consulting Service. That experience earned me invitations to serve as a keynote speaker at various universities and teach at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology.
Concerned about Canada’s declining innovation rankings, in 2012, I co-founded a global non-profit called One Million Acts of Innovation with one simple intention: to enhance Canada’s innovation capabilities by connecting arts and youth to business. The goal was to count one million acts of innovation by unleashing creative ideas that businesses could use to create meaningful change in the world.
That inspired the co-founding of an investment firm called 8 Billion Acts of Innovation. The firm provided funding to artificial intelligence and blockchain companies on a television show that put aside $20 million for investment purposes.
Fast forward to today, I am now the Principal of Alt Funds Global.. My firm provides capital to various industries, monetizes funding instruments, as well as assists high net worth individuals in private placement programs and other important investment decisions.
Openly individualistic, I often jokingly credit my success to not following my father’s financial advice. However, I did inherit my father’s love of family. My wife and I have an equally individualistic and strong-minded young daughter, of whom I am fiercely protective.
I like to surround myself with out-of-the-box financiers and attorneys who are creative and fearless (just like James Bond and Batman) and share my integrity and respect values. I believe in due diligence, data, and not taking oneself too seriously.
